Paul Harrison: BCA, CA, MBA.

27 years' investment experience

Paul has more than 27 years’ experience in the finance sector. In addition to being a Director of Salt Investment Funds Limited, Paul is also a Director and Shareholder of the parent company, Salt Funds Management Limited. Currently Paul is the Portfolio Manager for the Salt Javelin Fund and the Core NZ Equities Fund.

Paul started his career as an Accountant with Ernst & Whinney in 1985. He then spent nine years working as an Associate Director for Southpac Investment Management and five years as Investment Manager for Goldman Sachs JB Were Asset Management. Other roles have included Director and CFO for software company EstarOnline Limited and an Institutional Adviser for share broker Doyle Paterson Brown. Immediately prior to joining Salt Funds Management Limited, Paul was employed for over five years as Portfolio Manager/Head of Equities at BT Funds Management (NZ) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Westpac Financial Services Group Limited.

Matthew Goodson: CFA, BA, MCA (Hons, 1st).

23 years' investment experience

Matthew has more than 23 years’ experience in the finance sector. In addition to being a Director of Salt Investment Funds Limited, Matthew is also a Director and Shareholder of the parent company, Salt Funds Management Limited. Currently, Matthew is the Portfolio Manager for the Salt NZ Dividend Appreciation Fund, the Salt Listed Property Fund and the Salt Long Short Fund. 

Matthew started his career as an Economist with Garlick & Co from 1993-1995 before becoming Head of Research from 1995-1997. He then spent seven years in New York working for BZW and Goldman Sachs JB Were as Director, Wholesale Equities before returning to New Zealand in 2004 to work for First NZ Capital also as Director, Wholesale Equities until 2009. During this time Matthew also managed a long short fund for First NZ Capital from 2006-2008. Immediately prior to joining Salt Funds Management Limited, Matthew was employed for over four years as Portfolio Manager at BT Funds Management (NZ) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Westpac Financial Services Group Limited.

Matthew has a Bachelor of Arts degree and Masters in Commerce and Administration (First Class Honours) from Victoria University of Wellington and is a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

David Oxley: BCom (Hons, 2:1), ACIS.

24 years' investment experience

David has more than 24 years’ experience in the finance sector. He is Salt Funds Management Limited's Head of Research and has overall responsibility for Salt’s investment research process. David is also a shareholder of Salt Funds Management Limited.

David is a career investment analyst and has experience in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom. He began his career as Investment Analyst, UK Equities for Sun Alliance Investment Management in 1991. He then became Investment Analyst, Pan-European Equities for Royal & Sun Alliance Investment Management following his previous company’s merger with Royal Insurance in 1996. He then took up a role as Investment Analyst and Team Leader for Pan-European Equities for Morley Fund Management in 2001. David moved to New Zealand in 2005 and joined ABN Amro Craigs (later Craigs Investment Partners) as Director, Senior Research Analyst. In 2011 he moved to the Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation as Senior Analyst, Active Return Strategy. Immediately prior to joining Salt Funds Management Limited, David was employed as Head of Research at BT Funds Management (NZ) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Westpac Financial Services Group Limited.

David has a Bachelor of Commerce degree, from the University of Birmingham (Honours 2:1) and holds the ACIS designation as an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators professional body.

Anthony Sowerby: CFA, BSc (Tech).

17 Years' Investment experience

Anthony has more than 17 years’ experience in the finance sector. He is the Chief Operating Officer of Salt Funds Management Limited and has overall responsibility for operations, compliance and client relationship management. Anthony is also a Shareholder of Salt Funds Management Limited.

Anthony has held a variety of finance roles in both New Zealand and Ireland. He has held business development roles for KBC Asset Management from 2000-2004 before returning home to New Zealand, where he was employed by AMP Financial Services. He then took a position with AMP Capital Investors in 2007 working firstly as Retail Sales Manager and then Business Development Manager for six years before leaving to join Salt.

Anthony has a Bachelor of Science Technology, from Waikato University and is a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Andrew Bolland: CFA, BCom.

7 years' investment experience

Andrew has 7 years’ experience in the finance sector. He is an investment analyst for Salt Funds Management Limited. Andrew's responsibilities include investment research, portfolio analytics and reporting, as well as maintenance of the Salt Scoring System model and currency hedging.

Immediately prior to joining Salt Funds Management Limited, Andrew was employed as an analyst at BT Funds Management (NZ) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Westpac Financial Services Group Limited. Andrew has a Bachelor of Commerce from Otago University with a major in both finance and economics. He is a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Michael Kenealy: CFA, BCom (Hons, 1st).

7 years' investment experience

Mike has 7 years experience in the finance sector. He is an investment analyst for Salt Funds Management Limited. Mike’s responsibilities include investment research, portfolio analytics and reporting. Prior to joining Salt Funds Management Limited, Mike worked initially for Goldman Sachs JBWere in research and trading roles and then travelled to Peru and worked as investment analyst and portfolio manager for Makipura Microfinance and Solid Investments, a philanthropic fund.

Mike graduated from Auckland University in 2008 with Bachelor of Commerce (hons, 1st) in Finance having won prizes in economics and finance. He is a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.


Randall Clement: BE, BCom (Hons, 1st).

1½ Years’ Investment Experience

Randall is an investment analyst for Salt Funds Management Limited.

Prior to joining Salt, Randall graduated from Auckland University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons, 1st) having won prizes in accounting and finance, having also previously graduated from Auckland University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Engineering and worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer for Marine Industrial Design for 10 years.

Julia Diepbrink: BCom

5 Years' Investment Experience.

Julia has 5 years of experience in the finance sector. She is the Operations Analyst for Salt Funds Management Limited and has responsibilities for portfolio analytics and reporting, AML/CFT and compliance.

Julia most recently worked for Morgan Stanley Investment Management in London and Luxembourg from 2012 until 2016, firstly as an analyst in Alternative Investments and then as an associate in Client Services where she was responsible for relationships with UK institutional investors. Julia joined Salt Funds Management in August 2016, shortly after moving back to New Zealand.

Julia has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Otago with a major in International Business & Marketing.

Kirsty Campbell: BLaw (Hons)

Independent Chairperson Compliance Committee

17 Years’ Investment Experience

Kirsty has 17 years’ experience in the finance sector. She is the independent Chair of the Compliance Committees of Salt Funds Management Ltd and Salt Investment Funds Ltd.

She is currently a partner at Catalyst Advisory Partners, a commercial advisory firm. Her previous roles include Head of Supervision at the Financial Markets Authority, where she led the team responsible for licensing and monitoring financial service providers, including fund managers. Prior to that, she was a  senior manager at ANZ Commercial Banking. She originally practised as a solicitor before moving into corporate finance in London and then Auckland.

Kirsty is a director of New Plymouth PIF Guardians Ltd which oversees the New Plymouth District Council’s perpetual investment fund, and an independent director of a licensed KiwiSaver provider. She is also a member of SP Investment Group’s Investment Review Committee, a trustee of the Birkenhead Primary School Learning Trust and a member of the Institute of Directors.

She has a Bachelor of Law (Hons) and a post-graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, both from the University of Edinburgh.


Kelley Videbeck: BCA

Kelley has been with Salt since its inception in 2013 in her capacity as part time Accounts Administrator and has recently expanded her role to include the additional duties of Compliance Officer.

Kelley graduated from Victoria University of Wellington in 1988 with a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration majoring in Accounting and Finance.
